Dr. Zhang is a Senior Research Scientist with the Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and is currently responsible for research program coordination and oversight. His main research areas include convergence of next generation broadband and broadcast systems, spectrum monitoring and data analysis, and spectrum policies. Dr. Zhang is an IEEE Fellow, Chair of IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS) Fellows Evaluation Committee, previous Chair of IEEE BTS Distinguished Lecturer Committee, elected member of the IEEE BTS Administrative Committee (AdCom), IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting and IET Communications Journal. Dr. Zhang has more than 100 peer-reviewed Journal and conference publications, many technical contributions on Digital Radio Broadcast (DAB) and ATSC 3.0 standards, and received over ten Best Paper Awards from IEEE, IBC and NAB for his work on the next generation ATSC 3.0 and the 5G broadcasting systems. |
